hako is made by one person, and I collect as little as I can. I never sell or share your information for advertising.

The hako device

Your Anki data stays on your own network. The box reads your study stats from Anki on your computer and shows them; it doesn't send them anywhere. hako has no account and no analytics.

About every 6 hours, the box checks jareddesu.com for software updates. Like any website visit, that request includes your network's IP address. Nothing else is sent.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, I keep your email address only to tell you when pre-orders open and when the Kickstarter launches. It's stored on hako's own server (Cloudflare) together with the date, the language of the page you signed up on, and your country as seen by Cloudflare, so I know which languages and countries to plan for. A copy of each signup is emailed to me through Web3Forms. Ask and I'll delete it.

Orders

Payments are handled by Stripe. I never see or store your card number. To ship your order, I keep your name, shipping address, email and order details, and share them with the shipping carrier. I keep order records as long as tax law requires.

This website

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages and loads fonts from Google Fonts, which see your IP address like any web host. The site sets no tracking cookies. Your theme choice is saved in your own browser.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, wherever you live. Email hello@hakoshop.com.
